Abstract:
Throughout the world governments and large scale enterprises push for the exploitation of quantum physics in new domains such as computing, communications and sensing. While the foundations of quantum physics were developed in the first half of the 20th century, the industrial needs of manufacturability, low cost implementation and scaling define new challenges. With this ITG workshop we would like to bring together engineers and physicists working on quantum technologies deploying photonic integrated circuits. We would like to start a dialogue how to enable and facilitate within the German or European context the use of photonic integrated circuits for industrial applications of quantum information processing and related fields.
Invited Speakers:
14:00 - 14:30 "All silicon quantum communication", Florian Honz (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology)
14:30 - 15:00 "Single photon detectors", Maximilian Protte (Paderborn University)
15:00-15:30 "Active components for quantum technology based on InP and beyond", Gerrit Fiol (Fraunhofer HHI)
